Overview of our days

What to expect during our 8 days together

This guide offers an overview of the pilgrimage experience, but please note that the schedule is flexible and subject to change. Our local guide, Miki, will provide a daily itinerary, sharing the plan for the next day based on availability, weather, and other considerations.

While we journey together as a group, we also deeply respect that each person’s pilgrimage is personal. If at any point the schedule feels overwhelming or you feel called to take some quiet time for yourself, please know that you are completely free to do so. Your time in Medjugorje is your own, and everyone’s journey with the Lord is unique.

Day 1 – Arrivals to Medjugorje

We will have dinner together at the Pansion in Medjugorje. This will be our chance to collect our lanyards and meet everyone.

Day 2 – Day 8: Spiritual Program & Activities

Each day, we will participate in the English Mass at 10:00 AM, except on Sundays when Mass is at Noon. If we take a side trip to Šurmanci (Divine Mercy Church), Široki Brijeg Monastery, or Humac (St. Anthony Monastery), we will have our own Mass celebrated by our priest.

Every evening from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, we will have the opportunity to join the official Prayer Program at St. James’ Church, which includes:

  • 6:00 PM – Rosary & Confession

  • 7:00 PM – International Mass

  • 8:00 PM – Special Devotions

    • Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday: Eucharistic Adoration

    • Friday: Veneration of the Cross

    • Wednesday & Sunday: Healing Prayer + Glorious Mysteries of the Rosary

We will have two meals per day at the Pansion (breakfast and lunch), while dinner will be on your own, except on Day 1, when we will have a late lunch or dinner together.

Pilgrimage Activities

Some of the activities that may be part of our program include:

✅ Climbing Apparition Hill – This is the sacred site where the first reported apparitions of Our Lady took place in 1981. The climb is a time for personal prayer and reflection, with bronze plaques along the way marking key moments of the Rosary.

✅ Climbing Cross Mountain – At the peak of this mountain stands a towering white cross, built in 1933 to commemorate the 1,900th anniversary of Christ’s Passion. Pilgrims ascend the steep path while praying the Stations of the Cross, reflecting on Jesus’ journey to Calvary.

✅ Visiting Cenacolo Community – A powerful testimony of God’s mercy, this is a community for young men overcoming addiction through prayer, work, and fraternity. Hearing their witness can be a moving and faith-affirming experience.

✅ Visiting Oasis of Peace Community – Many pilgrims find this visit to be a peaceful and spiritually renewing experience. The Bishop gave permission for the chapel to be used for Eucharistic adoration. This has been a wonderful place for our pilgrims to visit and have their own time. It is a very short walk from our Pensione.

✅ Side trip to Šurmanci (Divine Mercy Church) – This small church houses the miraculous image of Divine Mercy, associated with a healing that took place through the intercession of St. Faustina. It’s a profound place to reflect on Christ’s mercy.

✅ Side trip to Široki Brijeg Monastery – A place of profound historical and spiritual significance. This monastery honours the 30 Franciscan friars who were executed for their faith in 1945. It is deeply revered by the Croatian people, standing as a powerful reminder of the region’s steadfast faith and the courage of those who gave their lives for Christ.

✅ Side trip to Humac (St. Anthony Monastery) – One of the oldest Franciscan monasteries in Bosnia and Herzegovina, this peaceful site is home to a stunning church dedicated to St. Anthony and a rich collection of religious artifacts. It’s a beautiful place to reflect on the history of faith in the region.

✅ Side trip to Kravice Waterfalls – This is a stunning natural wonder located about 40 minutes from Medjugorje. Surrounded by lush greenery, the cascading falls stretch nearly 25 meters high and create a serene, almost Eden-like atmosphere. It's a perfect place to pause, rest, and reflect in nature. Many pilgrims find this side trip a refreshing complement to the spiritual intensity of the pilgrimage — a moment to experience the beauty of God’s creation and enjoy fellowship with others in a peaceful, scenic setting. PLEASE NOTE THIS SIDE TRIP IS WEATHER DEPENDENT.

✅ Walking Tour and talk by Miki, along the base of Apparition Hill (including the Blue Cross spot). The Blue Cross is a sacred site at the base of Apparition Hill, where Our Lady has reportedly appeared to the visionaries, particularly to Ivan during his prayer group gatherings. Many pilgrims come here for quiet prayer and reflection, as it is a place of deep peace and healing.

✅ Possibly attending a Talk by Fr. Leon Pereira – Fr. Leon is a Dominican priest and the official chaplain for English-speaking pilgrims in Medjugorje. Known for his deep theological insights, humor, and moving personal testimony, his talks provide profound reflections on Our Lady’s messages, faith, and the spiritual journey of Medjugorje. Many pilgrims find his words both inspiring and transformative.

✅ Meeting with a Visionary – Mirjana Soldo – Mirjana Soldo is one of the six visionaries of Medjugorje who, since 1981, has received apparitions of Our Lady. She has been entrusted with ten secrets about the future of the world and shares profound messages about faith, conversion, and prayer. During our pilgrimage, we will have the opportunity to hear Mirjana speak, where she shares her personal encounters with Our Lady and the call to deeper trust in God. It is a truly moving experience that many pilgrims find deeply inspiring.

Since exact arrangements depend on various conditions such as availability, schedules, and weather, we will announce the next day's program at least one day in advance.
